In addition to the regular spoonful of nostalgia that every Disney classic doses, Beauty and the Beast holds an extra special place in my heart. It was one of the first shows I ever saw on Broadway, my grandmother treating me to it. She said my mouth dropped as soon as the lights went down and the the orchestra began to play - I've been addicted to theatre ever since.
As a fearless elementary school student I was fortunate enough to be cast as one of the Chips on the first national tour of B&B. Unfortunately, for family reasons, I never got to go on - trekking a child around the country when you have other kids and tons of responsibilities is no easy take for parents, even when you have amazing ones!
Alas, while I am a bit too old to play Chip now, I am finally thrilled to say I will be in this show. I've been cast as LeFou in the White Plains Performing Arts Center's production, which runs December 21 - January 13. Rehearsals have been off to an amazing start and I cannot wait to spread some cheer this holiday season! I hope to see you there!
